Whatever you want

You already have everything you need. Having what you need isn’t the problem, it’s wanting what you have.

And as far as getting what you want? Well, there’s a trick to that. You have to REALLY want it.

You say you do want it? But you just can’t do it? You just can’t get it? You can’t stop eating doughnuts and M&Ms? Really?

You could, if what you really, REALLY wanted was to eat healthier.

But maybe what you really, REALLY want is just to really want what you THINK you should want. Did you ever think of it that way?

I don’t really know. I’m just thinking out loud today.

  1. I’ve been thinking about this lately. Like, I have passions of the head that don’t manifest in the heart, so I don’t do anything about it. I struggle with inertia ALL the time. Can’t be lazy duff up and out the door to do anything. Yes, I’m a homebody, but yes, I want to make a difference. Today I could be helping flood victims but instead I’m taking advantage of amazing weather to work in my own garden. Selfish. But I WANT to help! So what gives? Is it in my dna? My dad is like this (Mom, on the other hand, is a serious go-getter. Almost nothing gets in her way). I really don’t like this part of myself, but I don’t know how to change it that isn’t like swimming against a raging tide. Sigh.
