Thanks, but it’s a big responsibility…
“The more you sense the rareness and value of your own life, the more you realize that how you use it, how you manifest it, is all your responsibility. We face such a big task, so naturally we sit down for a while.” —Kobun Chino Otogawa Roshi
I’m spending these three days of Memorial Day Weekend on retreat. I’m sitting down for a while. Gathering strength. Gathering knowledge, understanding. Gathering confidence. Shedding a few tears.
This is hard. This is really hard. But it can also be beautiful and funny and amazing and sweet. But mostly, it’s just hard.
Yesterday I watched a chicken cross the road. I laughed. It felt good.
Last week I saw a lady — no taller than I am and probably 10 years older — on a Harley. She was beautiful. She gave me hope.
Life is hard. Life is really hard. But it can also be beautiful and funny and amazing and sweet.
It’s raining this weekend. Imagine that! Rain in the Pacific Northwest on Memorial Day weekend.
It’s raining inside my house too. Imagine that!
But look! There’s Shane! He’s sweet and funny and amazing. And he looks great in hats!
And no, this blog post really doesn’t have a purpose, a rhyme, a reason, a direction or a hidden meaning.
I’m just sayin’.
