Jesus Freak

Loved it. I devoured it in one sitting. It was delicious. Really. Buy it. Read it.

“Jesus isn’t the kind of boyfriend, in my experience, who’s just going to smile and be agreeable. He’s the thrilling, scary Boyfriend who’s going to dare you to do things you’d never dreamed of, shower you with unreasonable presents, and show up uninvited at the most embarrassing times. Then he’s going to stick with you, refusing to take the hint when you don’t answer his calls.” -Sara Miles, Jesus Freak

And then, the last words:

“But Jesus is real, and so, praise God, are we. Every single thing the resurrected Jesus does on earth he does through our bodies. You’re fed, you’re healed, you’re forgiven, you’re pronounced clean. You are loved, and you’re raised from the dead.

“Go and do likewise.” -Sara Miles, Jesus Freak

It’s a story about some very broken people (just like you and me), living in a very broken world (just like ours), loving in the best way they can a world that seems mostly unlovable (like those other guys … and us).

It’s a passionate challenge. Are you up to it?

  1. I am going in search of this book. Just had another “turn around” kind of weekend. Your suggesting this book at this time is so totally “heaven sent”!
