The Same Jesus
My oldest son, Stosh, has been working on the walls and floors of the room with my icons resting in it. I moved them out of the way yesterday, stacked my Jesus’ up in a bookshelf. Later, as I walked by, I noticed something that made me smile: each of the Jesus’ seem to be the same Jesus. It doesn’t matter that they are each made by a different artist, they are all the same guy.
At least it looks that way to me.

Indeed! Thanks be to God.
Hence the hymn we sing at our church, to the tune of “Danny Boy,” called “O Christ the Same!”

Have you not read the commandment against worshiping idol, or graven images ?
I do not “worship” my icons, I worship God.

But you are !…. Worshiping them.
You lighted candles on them, you kneel and prayed while looking at them . And that act,constitute as worshiping.
You know the reason why you lighted them, even during day time? Because your mind and your belief was covered by darkness.
Understand this verses:
# “And this became a HIDDEN TRAP FOR MANKIND because men , in bondage to misfortune or to royal authority BESTOWED on objects of wood or stone THE NAME that ought not to be shared.”(Wisdom 14:21)
# “They have NO KNOWLEDGE who carry about their wooden idols, and KEEP ON PRAYING to a god that cannot save”(Isaiah 45:20)
# “To whom then will you liken God or what likeness compare with Him?”(Isaiah 40:18)
# “CLAIMING TO BE WISE, THEY BECAME FOOLS and exchanged the GLORY OF GOD for images resembling MORTAL MAN or birds or animals or reptiles”(Romans 1:22-23)
#”TO WHOM WILL YOU LIKEN ME and MAKE ME EQUAL, and COMPARE ME, that WE MAY BE ALIKE.”(Isaiah 46:5)
#”TO WHOM THEN WILL YOU COMPARE ME that I should be liked him? Says the Holy One.” (Isaiah 42:8)
And the times of this ignorance God winked at : BUT NOW commanded ALL MEN everywhere to REPENT.(Acts 17:30)
AT THAT DAY shall a man look to his MAKER , and his eyes shall have respect to THE HOLY ONE of Israel.
And he SHALL NOT LOOK to the altars, the work of his hands, NEITHER SHALL RESPECT that which his fingers have made, EITHER the grooves, or the IMAGES.”(Isaiah 17:7-8)
TRUE WORSHIPERS shall worship THE FATHER in SPIRIT and in TRUTH: For The Father SEEKETH SUCH to worship Him.(John 4:23)
